Sterling in silhouette
I held a lighting workshop recently. Sterling was the model. I rarely shoot silhouettes but I wanted to incorporate that arch into a shot. Backlighting became an obvious choice.

i think i would crop out the tree that's a lot of silhouette and dead space
I agree with Joseph! I would almost opt for a 3x2 vertical crop with your friend in the center. Beautiful composition. I think you could bump your highlights and whites a bit more too.
