Light pollution is one of a factor for us not seeing lots of details on the sky. In astrophotography, light pollution determines whether we can or cannot able to see the milky way. Malibu is a beach city where the location of the city is so close to Santa Monica/Los Angeles area. Light pollution is so a lot and people said ,"There is a really high chance you cannot able to capture milky way there." I took my chance doing some research a found out that it is possible to do some astrophotography shots there. I took my chance to arrive there during prime hour and the result is stunning. Unfortunately, it only lasted for 1 hours before cloud starts to move in and condition got bad. I then packed to go home, but it is well worth a try and will definitely coming back!
nice shot a little grainy but nice composition. did you take multiple photos for stacking or 1 exposure?
