I held a lighting workshop recently. Sterling was the model. I rarely shoot silhouettes but I wanted to incorporate that arch into a shot. Backlighting became an obvious choice.

i like this shot ...nice silhouette i even like the light pollution. stars could be a little brighter but it has a nice feel to it.
Thanks Joseph! The resolution on this site destroys fine detail, the stars are much brighter in better res.
Odd...i've never noticed a decrease in image quality when I posted.
That’s odd because there is a very distinctive drop in res on this site, at least on your phone, just zoom in on any pic posted here and you will notice nothing is sharp.
I don't know about you, but all the images on my profile are sharp as they should be. no decrease in quality that i notice. Same goes for the Critique the Community contests...quality is great.
