Advice Please

Hello,

I've attempted a star trails photo here. In the past I've used star stax but for this I just used photo shop, which was very meticulous. Every time I try this I get skips in the stars. This is 150ish photos combined. Are the skips caused by not enough photos or something else? I also used a blue hour photo for the foreground on this. Would love to get some feedback on how to improve this photo. Thanks in advance!

The gaps are from missing photos in between exposures. There really can't be any time gap between shots or you'll have a blank space between the stars. Even a single missed exposure of 30 sec(or whatever your shutter speed is) is enough to make a gap. Zoom in to 100%and you'll see they are still individual dots. See how you go with the longest stretch of exposures with no gap. Although the trails will be shorter it might make for a more refined image.
There is probably still too much light on the horizon to get a good star trail shot here too. Try not to start taking the star shots until full dark.

The cure, maybe - haven't tried it myself but try the free photoshop script at www.artinnaturephotography.com/gallery/twilightarticle. Referred in Glenn Randall's "Dusk to Dawn", the examples he provides look convincing.Book gets 5 stars, too.
