Rémi Carbonaro's picture

Peering into the past.

A blend of 50 non-tracked 6s exposures and 15 darks, taken in the Elqui Valley, in Chile. My first real try at astrophotography, with sort of suboptimal gear (7D2, 24-70 f/4). The cropping, 64/27, has been chosen to emphasize the shapes of the Milky Way.

One of the best places on the planet to view the stars. The Milky Way is absolutely breathtaking from there, and you have captured that. Just look at those dust clouds! Fantastic! You should treat yourself to a little celebratory pisco sour to mark the occasion.

Nice composition, crazy amount of stars in this frame is awesome...
