A supernova from a star estimated to be 20 times more massive than our sun. The explosion occured 10-20 thousand years ago and would have been visible during the day.

Bald Eagle, Eagle Creek, Alaska

We were hiking in the rainforest of Southeast Alaska. Eagles were EVERYWHERE, though at a long distance, along this creek looking for salmon.
