July Challenge - MINIMALISM

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share some of my favorite "minimalist" shots I've taken over the years for this months challenge. These photos range from way back in 2019 (the long exposure pier photo) all the way to this year.

Thanks for looking!

Wow, Kyle! These are beautiful! Great work and storytelling. I love all of them, but that fifth one is GORGEOUS!

Thank you! That one is one of my personal favs as well. It made a critique the community a few years ago. I forget which one though. I have a fairly large print of it in my house.

Great shots all Kyle, especially love the lighthouse, pier and the wave.. nice work.

Very nice. Really like the wave, just the right amount of motion and beautiful colors

Great shots! I particularly like your treatment of the waves in #5 and #8. I think those are unique

Again, your mono images stand out, Kyle. You need that Leica Monochrom, don't you? ;-)

The lighthouse and boat images stand out for me. Good work!

Have you done anything radical with the sky in No. 4 Kyle? Somehow the colours in the sky and its reflection in the seawater in the foreground don't match well.

I don't know its from a few years ago. I might have done some masking in lightroom but nothing crazy.

I don't think I could pick a favorite as each is unique and stands on it's own merit. Great job Kyle.

The long time exposure with the red sky contains a lot of dynamic approaching the viewer. That's great!

Great series Kyle. It would be hard to pick a favorite, but the lighthouse really jumps of the page for me.

It's interesting to see how others gravitate to different images and say a lot to how we all have perhaps similar, but distinctly different tastes.
