The female dragonfly tried to lay eggs in the water. But males constantly were approaching her and it looked like the female was diving under the surface for a while to be unseen. Here you can see just her wings looking out of the water while her body is below the surface.
I really enjoy creating something different with drones. I've had the Mavic now for about four weeks and I absolutely love it.

Great job. Insects are some of the hardest to photograph, especially with a shallow DoF. I don't believe I have ever captured a scene like this. Are you sure this shouldn't be marked NSFW? 😂

NSFW? The copulation happened before. All animals are nude. And this dragonfly woman is under water. So: don't worry! 😉

Like Dean I prefer the first as it includes a greater sense of environment, but each present the viewer with their own story.

You are right, the 1st one is slo my personal favorite. It has a bit more sharpness on the wings and appears a bit lighter, brighter to me.
The 2nd shows the glare of the body a bit. Maybe I rework it during the next days to make the animal more popping out.

The color of the photo was a muddy-dirty brown in different shades. Not appealing at all. But I liked my observation, a diving dragonfly. So I have it a try and turned the muddy brown to bnw and gave some punch at the desired areas.
