Helianthus giganteus

Something that is very different for me. Last spring I cast giant sunflower seeds all over a piece of our property that is between the fence around our yard and the street. The strip of land is about 24" wide, and I don't want weeds in it, so I bought several packages of sunflowers and sowed them along that strip. My regular digital cameras won't focus closely enough to get just the center of these blooms, but my i-Phone does. So I compromised and used the camera that would work. You won't see color work from me too often, but sunflowers, who could resist. I think that tomorrow I will pick some of the more interesting ones and scan them. Amazingly, that seems to work quite well in terms of image sharpness.

Wow, I love the textures and the color. Nice work Nathan. Our phone cameras are pretty amazing these days.
