With March coming rapidly to a close I'd like to jump the gun a bit and start thinking of a challenge for April.
Coming up with challenges that inspire members is becoming difficult for me, and with the successful discussions following Dean's suggestion for March I'd like to throw this back to you folks for suggestions.
I will say that any challenge has to be broad enough so that all can join in (no specific equipment/lighting/techniques that limit participation), and also something that inspires members to engage in discussion.
So let me have your thoughts in this thread, and be sure to comment on any suggestions from others you may like.
Some sample ideas from the top of my head just to get your mind working;
- a new beginning (as it will be Spring in the northern hemisphere)
- water
- the presence of clouds (playing a significant role)
- movement
- Minimalism/Abstract/Experimental
- any other genre we'd like to 'Experiment' with
PS - For anyone looking from afar and perhaps thinking that their input doesn't count please know that (as a group) we value ALL opinions, ideas and shared work. NO opinion is wrong, and ALL are respected!
My 2¢ would be "Typologies" ~ series of photos of a similar subject.
For example.
I am looking forward to other ideas to help spur on my stagnant creativity.
That leaf Dean is stellar.. nice capture.
I really like water, clouds and or movement. But that’s because those are some of my favorite subjects!
Alan, How about the theme of Imagination / In Your Wildest Dreams
No special or elaborate studio sets just a photographer and the mind behind the camera.
Of course announce it of April 1st ;)
Thanks Paul, I like the idea.
The only fear I have is that in order to have members participate themes generally have to be wider scoped.
We have seen in the past where many are unable to relate to more intangible themes and participation is low.
Keep thinking though, and there's nothing preventing you submitting your own similarly-themed images and challenging others to do likewise.
