Abstract Clouds

One year and two days ago I posted my first edit of this photo
[ https://fstoppers.com/groups/230825/minimalism-abstract-experimental/49… ]

Yesterday I did a re-edit from scratch, with subtler manipulation of light and color:
(the third one is the original raw file converted to jpg)

Really digging the second one but I am partial to that tone of green/teal. Beautiful abstract.

Thanks! The second one apprears to be more vintage compared to the first :)

I think I agree with Joe on the preference, or at least I thought I did.

The 3rd looks to have a purple tint but I think this may be influenced by viewing alongside the image above. After isolating #3 it actually doe s look more natural (ie no purple tint) and is my favorite.

Interesting composition Hunter.

The third one is the original photo. How would you edit it if I have actually gone backwards doing the edit?

Same as Alan - third is my favorite of the bunch on its own.

As a backdrop or key element in a composite, the first two definitely have utility though e.g. video gaming, fantasy, anime, etc.

At first, I thought this might have been a very dusty film scan but then I followed your link back to the original post and saw what you had done. I liked what you did back then and of these three I'd choose #2, partially because that is the least realistic of all the versions. I've always had a motto (among many others:) If you're going to manipulate something, be so subtle that nobody can tell you did it or be so dramatic that they know you did it on purpose.
