I noticed a number of dragonflies landing on the growth coming up from below the water and wondered what they were doing. As it was a cloudy day and the water reflection was practically white anyway I thought this was a good opportunity to "try again" for a minimalist style photo with limited elements and simple composition. I love this photo. Different than many of the dragonfly photos I've seen. Great color (not oversaturated). No sure if it's minimalist enough for my personal taste.
Thanks Bruce. Appreciate the feedback.
Whether or not some find it a little busy to classify as minimalistic but this really is a well crafted and striking image (not to mention fresh and creative).
Well done!
Thank you so much!
Love this image...different and fresh.
Thank you Marcus. That is very kind of you. Cheers!
A striking and interesting image, David! I might agree with Bruce that it would probably not be seen as minimalist because of the number of elements in its composition - but so what? You articulate your intention well ("limited elements and simple composition"), and execute this very well. The result is very effective, the similarly-toned & coloured parallel stems contrasting with the dragonfly.
I agree with the others about the freshness of your approach. Well done!
Thank you for the feedback and your comments. I appreciate it.
