Sky above Hamburg's skyline

I was testing my new wide angle lens and caught this interesting sky. Tell me what you think about the post processing and the crop.

Processing looks great. Thank you for maintaining detail in the skyline as many would have reduced the exposure to the point that the buildings were mere silhouettes. I would have liked to see the slight perspective distortion corrected, but it’s a small nitpick.

I think you’ll find that most people avoid the use of software “frames” on this site as they only serve to reduce the display size of your photos without providing any real benefits.

Thank you, Phillip. I think the frame lets the photo look more upscale or noble. I won't use it all the time though, I promise :-)

Gratz on the new lens and happy shooting.

Processing looks good on both of my monitors one of which is a little darker and shows less contrast.

However, the crop is a little imbalanced for me. If the clouds were spectacularly unique or if the skyline exhibited some sort of symmetry, then your emphasis on the sky may have worked more effectively.

As-is, it's essentially a lot of wispy clouds that although look cooler, when exaggerated by a wide-angle lens, do not really stand on their own enough.

Look forward to more of your shots with the lens.

I prefer this crop over the original. For this particular scene on this particular day, it just works better for me.

I think I prefer the original crop because it emphasizes the sky. The city becomes a witness to the grand tableau above.
