Cubist Miami

The interplay of light and shadow on the neutral colored surface of the three juxtaposed Miami Government Center buildings, set against a somewhat hazy azure South Florida sky, present a panoply of geometric shapes. The image gives us some small insight into the geometric precision of architectural engineering, and perhaps how Paul Cezanne, the preeminent precursor of the Cubist Movement, may have found inspiration in the geometric shapes of the roofs and facades of the buildings of Estaque, a small village in the south of France. For this image I used a Nikon F3 with a Nikkor AI 200mm f/4 lens and Kodachrome 64 film.
