New website post
Just a heads up for anyone that may be interested (and as things are slow in the group.....).
I have just added a new blog post, centered on using a hidden feature in the Bluristic app on iPhone to try and recreate the 'in the round' technique.
It may not be of interest for those not attracted to this type of work, but I've included some pretty pictures :-)

I just thought I'd try to add something to the group - if you do read it, I'd love to hear if you have any thoughts (and feel free to comment on the post.....)

I think it's a pretty cool effect - but I'm not thrilled that it's just (more or less) a computer program/software. (Is that downtown Lisbon?)
Yep, Lisbon. The technique basically follows Pep Ventosa's 'in the round'. Instead of taking a series of shots walking around the subject we simply doing the same thing but allowing the camera to shoot as angle requirements are met.
In essence we are performing a similar task as in the original (ie taking multiple images), the difference being that the results are blended automatically in the software, rather than doing so using software (Photoshop) on the computer.
I see this as a similar process, applied in a different manner.
Got it. I'm more into realism - but I guess you know this by now. I guess that I'm one of the very few photographers around that find certain shades of brown and gray as wonderful as the more vibrant colors.
