Herron
There was a Herron sitting in the water, I had to change my lens so that I can at least try and get some photos of him. As I finally get my lens changed to the 200 - 800 mm lens, the Herron flew off, and landed in a tree. As I zoomed in to get the photo, the Herron opened up his wings and started airing them out.

Don L, time and time again in the scenario you describe here the end results are going to be the same or even less so. Suggestion(s) either keep your 200-800mm lens on camera all the time in the field, till you have to change to a wider lens where time is less crucial to losing a shot. Or, get a second body to dedicate to you super telephoto zoom.
Thanks for the comment Paul, I couldn't agree with you more. It was actually later in the day...just went out for a ride around the water, really wasn't looking to take any bird photos, but came across this shot...I did have my 24 - 105 mm lens on the camera, and was out taking landscape photos...Sometimes, ok I admit more times than not, the best moments show up when I least expect them...
