High above the clouds on the summit of Haleakalā, Piko o Ka Lani — meaning “The Center of Heaven” — captures a moment where earth and sky seem to touch. As the sun’s final glow fades into the Pacific horizon, the Milky Way awakens in full brilliance above the Haleakalā Observatory. The merging of sunset and starlight reveals the sacred duality of this place — where ancient Hawaiian navigators once read the stars, and modern astronomers now study the same celestial path.
This was originally a shot with my Hasselblad of a bright blue shy and a very white cloud plus some trees. I had to shoot higher in order to avoid acrs and people.

We were hiking in the rainforest of Southeast Alaska. Eagles were EVERYWHERE, though at a long distance, along this creek looking for salmon.
This little bird is a hybrid of a Peregrine Falcon, the fastest bird and the fastest animal in all of creation, and a Gyrfalcon.
