Vintage Lens
Another visit to our garden using a vintage lens (Canon FD 50mm f/1.4) on my Canon R5.
"Reaching" - 'Sambucus nigra', as my wife calls it, or Black Lace Elderberry for the rest of us.
Any interest in this group?
Hi all, I was looking for such a group but see that although there are many members there hasn’t been a single post. Is there interest out there in getting this group going?
Vintage Lenses
I thought I would try out my 50 year old lenses: Canon FD 50mm f/1.5 SSC and Canon FD 28mm f/2.8 on my Canon R5 with the use of the appropriate adapter.

Like these. Top one the best. To me the bottom one, the eyes seem to be a little bit off, looking too much to the left. Would have liked to see them more centered. MHP.
Hi Lee, Thank you for your comment. I will try some with a little less head turn. That´s a good tip. Thanks.
The head turn is fine. it's he eyes that need some correction. It's like he is trying to keep his head in one direction while looking a totally different way with his eyes.
I agree with Lee. Also the lower one seems to be losing some details in his cheeks and forehead. I’m on my phone so it hard to see, but I can see detail in the top photo through out.
Hi Pamela, in fact i might over exaggerated a bit in skin softness. After a wile, i also started to think the same. Thank you for your comment.
These are wonderful portraits. As an actor/director/ photographer for many years I just wanted to chime in and make the distinction between a headshot and a portrait. You’ve done a beautiful job of dramatically lighting these guys and conveying a mood. In headshot photography, agents will look these days for color, mostly natural light images. They’ll want to see hair color, eye color etc... and a clear no nonsense but professionally done image. I totally love Jordan Matter - his style is impeccable. Have a look at his stuff. And I don’t mean to be a troll with you at all. This is beautiful work.
