Playing with the curiosity of the viewer is the basis of my photos. This photo has for me everything that has to be in a picture, playing with the distance to the viewer, playing with the balance between light and shadow, filling light at the front with a Rembrandt lighting on the shadow side and light rear which has as function as profile light.
Although I only work with the available light, I try to bring it back to light settings that I use in my studio.
I really like your style Bram. My only thought is that it would be nice if that window on the upper right wasn't so bright or if the wall behind him were brighter on the right-hand side. There's so much contrast to that window-wall transition that it's leading my eye away from his face.
