I bought my first camera in March of 2019 because I wanted to start taking motocross photography and I instantly fell in love with it. Since March, I upgraded from my d5600 to a D750 and I have invested in a used Nikkor 24-70 f2.8 and a Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 VR.
Since the motocross season ended in October/November, I took an interest in headshot/portrait photography. I bought a few strobes/speed lights and started watching hours of headshot/lighting videos on youtube.
I wanted to get a better understanding of physically using the lights before asking friends/family to sit in for me.
I would love any critique that you guys could offer. I know wearing hats isn't the greatest for headshots, but I literally wear this hat at all times.
Thank you in advance!
a bit of light under the peak of the cap to round of the lines better and then to lessen the light on camera right. It seems that a bit of detail was burned away
As per my eyes, the cap does not belong there, it causes the light not to reach your forehead and it makes the light look strange as it feels it is too low and to the side instead of front. Your kick light is too strong to my taste, place it higher too.
And lastly I would give a touch more neck as it is a hanging head not a headshot.
Good luck!
Thank you both!
