Golden Crossing

I spent a couple hours at one of my favorite "secret" spots in my home town. This is a little cove off of Falls Lake on the Mountains-to-Sea-Trail. The Mountains to Sea Trail is a trail that goes all the way from the Smoky Mountains to the Outer Banks in North Carolina.

This little cove is situated in a way that usually blocks out most or all of the wind, allowing for some glassy reflections on the lake.

I was photographing some trees bathed in the golden hour light when I tuned around and saw this scene unfolding. I didn't have much time because the sun was sinking fast but I managed to get a few starburst shots with the bridge. Finally, just before the sun went behind the trees I decided to try a panorama to showcase the entire scene and this was the result.
