I must admit I have been lax in both my shooting and posting recently, perhaps due to the fact my wife has now retired, and we are spending a LOT more time together doing various activities.
I wanted to see how my 50 year old Canon FD 800mm f/5.6 s.s.c. would handle photographing both the Sun and the Moon.

I like this, It's a cool concept that could be turned into a series of interesting photos.
Thank you very much Karl - I took a few setups like this over the course of a few nights - this was my favourite - but next winter, I hope to get even more like it - I like the idea of a scientific light painting scene - would love to lay my hands on test tubes and other lab stuff...!
The lighting in interesting, and it's definitely a good premise. I'd encourage you to more.
The only suggestion I can think of is to experiment with the foreground and background ... maybe they don't have to be a solid black. This lab glassware would look "interesting" in a kitchen, for example - especially an older one. Or perhaps with "mad scientist" type props in the background ... or in this setting, but casting long scary shadows.
There's a lot you can do with this, IOW. Good luck. Post more.
