You're going to book more photography clients in 2023 because we're going to uncomplicate things. People are people, and photo clients are the same, whether it's an ad agency, a new mom, a bride-to-be, or the CEO of a startup.
The video will help you understand why pricing is about psychology. Getting the potential client to say yes is a strategic move. Sometimes, it's more important than the actual number. How you present the pricing for your photography is going to make or break your business.
If you wish to go deeper into each topic, please watch the attached video.
- Multiple Options: Imagine cornering your best friend or a sibling. They'll want to push you out of the way. Have you ever seen a little kid cornered? They scream! Humans in general (even animals) don't like to be cornered. We want to break out and get out of there, even in play. Why do you think cornering your potential clients to a singular price point would work in your favor? Present multiple pricing points to "give them an out," and when they have a choice, they stay. If you wish to have more depth to this conversation, watch the video.
- Break Into Their Home: Get in their home or office and sit on the couch with them, presenting your prices. Or try to get into their office and present your prices! Since that's not legal or the way we conduct business, there's an alternative. Record your prices on a service like Loom, or many other ones on the market.
The software records the screen and the camera records you presenting everything. It's like you're on the couch with them, or at their desk explaining everything. It's done with their permission because they chose to play the video and watch it all the way through. When they "allow" you into their private space, there's a greater trust level between the service provider and the customer. They trust you more. They like you more. You're more familiar than the other person who just sent a regular PDF.
Watch the full video for points three and four. Of course, you should work on your pricing for a healthier 2023, but do not skip on the how of the process. How you present your pricing and services will make or break your business.
