How Were Photos Made Long Ago?

The process of creating an image has changed quite a bit over the past two centuries on the journey to what we know now. If you are a history geek or just want to learn more about how things came to be what they are today, check out this fantastic video that will take you on a journey through various photographic processes, from the very earliest through to 20th-century techniques and methods.

Coming to you from Technology Connections, this fascinating video will take you through a detailed history of image-making techniques and processes. I always find these sorts of things remarkably interesting. Of course, the history behind early processes is intriguing itself, but learning about them gives me such a high level of appreciation for just how good we have it now. If you are not old enough to remember film, it can be hard to appreciate how relatively straightforward the digital process is, but even if you once shot on film, seeing how advanced been late-stage film was compared to earlier processes really underscores just how far the industry has come and puts some of the quibbling over modern-day specs into perspective. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
