Five Hilarious Camera Tricks for Saving Money

Camera gear is expensive – really expensive. After all, a good slider can cost you several hundred dollars alone. If you're just looking to show off that yummy sandwich you made, perhaps you should try the butter trick. Just be sure to use some bread to avoid getting butter on your camera.

Coming to you from I did a thing, this hilarious video details five ways for photographers and videographers to save money, ranging from using a chunk of butter and slice of bread as a makeshift camera slider to just a bit of mild breaking and entering (not that we condone that in any way). Photographers and videographers know how expensive specialized gear can be, and they can be quite the resourceful bunch when it comes to finding tricks and hacks to get the shot without dropping thousands of dollars, even if it involves a little butter. And remember, if the butter is too cold, it might not slide as well. Try heating the bottom of it ever so slightly to decrease the friction, and you should see better results. Also, I'm honestly not sure if camera warranties generally cover butter damage. It's probably best to check yours before you attempt that trick.
