Helpful Techniques for Better Landscape Photo Compositions

Whereas things that can be quantified, like camera settings, can be learned in a relatively straightforward manner, composition is a bit more nebulous and difficult to master. If you have been having trouble with your compositions, this excellent video tutorial will show you some helpful techniques to improve your landscape images.

Coming to you from Landscape Photography iQ with Tom Mackie, this helpful video tutorial will show you some useful techniques for landscape photography composition. Composition tends to get overlooked a bit in that we often default to tried and true methods like the rule of thirds without much more thought. And certainly, such heuristics are popular for a good reason: they reliably produce good photos the majority of the time. But that popularity is also a downside, as it means your photos tend to blend in with the crowd a bit, and it keeps you from fully realizing your own creative voice. It is well worth giving compositions a bit of careful thought and exploration. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Mackie.
