Lovely Fern

Captured with a DJI Mini 3 Pro at a 24mm equivalent focal length, this zenithal composition leverages the fixed f/1.7 aperture for light intake in the shaded environment. The exposure settings of ISO 100 and a rapid 1/1000s shutter speed were paired with a deliberate -1.7 EV underexposure to strictly protect highlight data in the bride's dress against the darker foliage. The soft, diffused lighting creates a cohesive texture but introduces significant color contamination, casting strong green reflections onto the skin tones and fabric.

Post-processing prioritized subject separation and color fidelity within the monochromatic environment. A Subject Mask was essential to isolate the couple, allowing for a localized Tint adjustment towards magenta to neutralize the green color cast on the skin and dress. Global HSL manipulation focused on the Green channel, reducing luminance to deepen the foliage contrast, while shadow recovery compensated for the initial negative exposure bias to reveal texture in the groom's dark suit.
