Returning to Virxe do Porto, a place I never get tired of photographing.
This year has started with an incredible run of dawns and sunsets, and moments like this are a reminder of how generous nature can be when you simply stop and watch. Being able to witness — and photograph — these fleeting conditions is a true privilege.
This is a more classic panorama of the location, one I’ve always loved and felt drawn back to. The small chapel resting on the rock becomes the visual anchor of the scene, with Faro da Frouxeira quietly appearing in the distance. Around it, the sea wraps the islet in constant motion, adding rhythm and energy to the composition.
That evening was particularly windy. I had to brace myself and the tripod to keep everything steady — even then, the movement of the grass reveals just how strong the wind was, adding an honest, almost tactile sense of the conditions to the image.
Places like Virxe do Porto remind me why I keep returning to the coast. No matter how many times I visit, the light, the sea and the atmosphere always find a new way to tell the story.
