The Absent Sunset

Last week, we headed to Praia das Catedrais.
Everything seemed perfectly aligned — an extremely low tide, beautiful cloud formations, and the promise of a glowing sunset. The kind of combination every photographer dreams of when visiting this iconic place.

But when we arrived, the beach was swallowed in a thick mist.
No dramatic skies, no golden light. Just fog.
Thick, still, and silent.

I decided to take it easy — to walk, to observe — like a tourist with a backpack full of gear. Eventually, the camera came out. I returned to a composition I had explored before, curious to see how it would work wrapped in this new atmosphere.

The result is a cold, moody photograph — quiet and contemplative — that captures exactly what that day felt like: still, grey, and oddly magical.
