Sculpted by Wind and Salt — Acantilados de Papel
Back to the Mariña Lucense coast.
Back to Xove.
Back to the wild textures of Acantilados de Papel.
For centuries, wind, salt and Atlantic waves have sculpted these cliffs into impossible shapes — cracks, folds, cavities, sharp edges. A geological masterpiece carved slowly by the ocean.
This place is a paradise for textures and pareidolia. On the left, a massive rock formation seems to stare back at you — a “face” with a dark circular eye that is, in reality, a perfectly rounded hollow shaped by erosion. Further ahead stands the rock I call the tightrope walker, balancing at the very edge of the sea, defying storms and time.
The ocean was restless yet strangely calm. The sky, dramatic and full of textured clouds, exploded in colour at sunset, wrapping the entire Galician coastline in warm light.
Locations like this remind me why the coast of Galicia is one of the most powerful landscapes in Europe.
I already want to return.
