La Meije - The Sundered Throne

High in the Alps, the weather dictates the rules. I titled this piece "The Sundered Throne," capturing the sheer, untamed power of the La Meije massif as it pierces through a heavy, brooding storm.
Landscape photography is often a game of patience. On this particular day, the wait paid off exactly when the dense clouds briefly parted, allowing a striking, golden light to bathe the rugged peak. The dramatic contrast between the warm, illuminated rock and the cold, dark storm clouds creates a palpable tension. If you look closely at the dark sky on the left, you will spot three solitary birds in flight—a subtle detail that truly reveals the colossal scale of this alpine giant.
A fleeting moment where the light briefly conquers the storm.
