Asian Short-Toed Otter

I adore otters, particularly this species of otter. They're very funny, and it would appear that in Asia they're frequently kept as pets. They're very dog-like. This one just continued to stare at me, whereas his friends all went away while I was trying to catch them as a group.

This one, I don't know if it's a boy or a girl, just stared at me the whole time and wasn't at all concerned. I got this lovely shot of his head. I actually got a shot of the whole body, but I thought this was a much better crop. I frequently find that the animals I choose to shoot stare at me. I'm wondering if it's because I'm sitting down, or whether other photographers find that their targets also just stare at them.
