For this shot, I wanted deep black shadows to create a very graphical, mysterious vibe. I wanted to keep it as simple as possible with just the hat and red lips, slightly desaturating the skin to help create the near-monochromatic colors.
This was lit with one spot projector camera left and above to create the deep shadows with hard lines.
Thanks, Dilyana! I think I tried a few different lipsticks that day to get what I wanted. I think this is Revlon's Ultra HD Vinyl Lip Polish in She's on Fire. I sometimes put it over something else because it's very orangey-red and very shiny and sticky. I'll sometimes put something darker under it for photo purposes. In this one, I think when I color graded it, it makes it appear more cherry.
