Instagram Introduces Threaded Comments

If you're an avid user of Instagram, you know one aspect that leaves a bit to be desired is the commenting system. Happily, Instagram has revamped that system by introducing threaded comments.

Currently, if you want to converse directly with someone in the app, you need to hit the "reply" button, which will then mention their username and allow you to notify them of your message. Of course, this turns the comment section of any post into an endless linear parade of @username replies with associated threads disrupted by other comments. Thankfully, Instagram has now introduced threaded conversations, which groups comments and their replies together, similar to the way Facebook operates. It makes it far easier for readers to follow the flow of conversation on a post and also allows commenters and posters to carry on dialogue in an organized fashion. Currently, I honestly tend to avoid commenting much because trying to track where conversations are just ends up being a big, cluttered mess in my opinion, but at the same time, I want to be able to talk about my work and the work of others, so I'm glad to see this update. The feature is available as part of version 24 of the app.

Sweet. Took long enough ha!

Yeah the comment section is a cluster fuck. Cool you @me I can't find that reply, especially on accounts that get hundred of replies.

Finally a change that I can't complain about for once. The curated feeds still drive me nuts.
