A new photography challenge has spread across the internet over the past month. This Tetris challenge consists of taking pictures from above of first responders and military vehicles. Here are some of the best shots. As usual with social media, the origin of this trend is not very clear but it seems that the New Zealand police department initiated the challenge when a policeman appeared next to his car along with all the equipment from the vehicle. This grid pattern quickly inspired other law enforcement and firefighting agencies around the world. Meanwhile, the hashtag #TetrisChallenge become viral.

Soon, military forces joined the party and started to spread the content of their vehicles, from ambulance, to self-propelled howitzer, helicopter, and fighter jet. Some units are very creative and clearly spent a lot of time to prepare the shot.

Finally, the trend took an unexpected turn when the British Ambassador to Hungary decided to put his diplomatic attributes on display.

Awesome collection. Thank you for sharing, Oliver. :-) I wonder who is next... Zoo tenants?
A lot of fun had making those I guess. Imagine though, getting a call-out half way though getting the kit all set out :)
Oh and that British Embassy bloke needs locking up, his Union Flag is wrong! <facepalm>
I guess 'tetris chalkege' sounds better than 'knolling'.
Fun photos.
Pretty cool. Not tetris though. Nor challenge.
Exactly my thoughts
Has anyone submitted such image from legos yet?
It would be interesting to see a flatlay photo contest on Fstoppers.
No it wouldn’t. Would be like a pissing content 😁
No Swiss policemen started this. The picture went viral and all other police and rescue teams started doing it so.
This is one hell of a "what's in my gear bag" display...
I'm laughing at the Germans taking it to another level by taking their chopper apart as well.
