VSCO Closes New York Office

It was reported earlier this week that the popular camera and editing application company VSCO has closed their New York office. If you use this popular app, you don’t have to worry, they are not going closing their other offices.

The decision was made to expand and centralize their staff to the company’s main headquarters in Oakland, Calif. With the New York office closing down, VSCO did offer the staff there opportunities to relocate. That’s always a good thing, but no telling how many took the offer and how many are now looking for jobs.

The New York office was also the home to VSCO’s Open Studio that offered free two hour studio time. When this was first launched, reservations filled up fast. I guess adding the studio wasn’t successful enough to keep this location open. Many stated that this studio wouldn’t last long, but it has also been reported that VSCO plans to expand its Open Studio to Oakland. Will it do better there?

VSCO isn’t necessarily downsizing the company either, as they have some open positions that need to be filled. If you are interest, you can visit their website for current job openings in both Denver and Oakland locations. Most of the job openings are currently for their headquarters in Oakland.

I know last year hasn't been the greatest for the app with declining reviews and unhappy customers, however it has improved since November's update. Not sure if it's just the people I follow but I have seen less VSCO and related tags on my feed. Are you still using the VSCO app? How about their other app, DSCO?

with rent the way it is in the NYC I don't blame them one bit!

TIL VSCO still was a thing. Maybe that's part of the problem.

I actually just tried their presets for the first time and am super impressed. I they really nailed some of the emulations.
