I didn't actually plan to go to meteorcrater during my trip to the US, since it was a bit far away from the planned route, but when a couple of days opened up I just couldn't miss the chance of going to this iconic crater! With an interest for astronomy this is a must visit and it didn't disappoint! Goosebumps!
The picture is a composite since they close down the visitor center around sunset.
Milkyway: 25 picture vertical and horizontal panorama of f/1.4 25sec. ISO1600.
Ground: 7 picture panorama of f/4, 1/40sec and ISO200

Impressive work. Great work on composites.

I assume that is Andromeda at the top right. The 25 frame panorama really paid off.

It is indeed yes :) Thanks!

At risk of sound trite, I have to say that the photo is straight mindblowing. Straight. Effing. Mindblowing. Bruh. Incredible work.

Always much appriciated :)

I'm in awe.

WoW the sky is mind blowing, awesome work.

Stunning. Congrats

This is a stunning composition - supremely impressed, supremely jealous!

Was the Milky Way done from roughly the same place?

Thank you, I shot the Milky Way in Death Valley. I'm sure something like this could be done at location, but you'll need a permit and a guide to go beyond the tourist part of the crater and be there during night - I didn't have time to arrange all that since the visit was improvised :)

Thanks Mads. Out of interest - what setup do you use for the Milky Way panoramas? Are you readjusting the camera position by sight, or are you using a panoramic head like the Manfrotto 303SPH?

by sight :)
