Artillery Rocks 2017

Beautiful and strange rock formations. Weathered sandstone, but it often looks like lava.

Love texture shots and this reminds me of Grizzly Bear tracks. We have many here in Montana.

Thanks! These things are like a Rorschach test, aren't they? I see a little sea creature rearing up or something. But I haven't had to consider the reality of grizzly tracks - nor their implications! Sharpens your focus.

I saw grizzly tracks as a 10 yr old in Glacier National Park... you can bet my dad made us all do a u-turn pronto! And we got permission to be as LOUD as we wanted on the way back to the trailhead. An image all the way on the other side of the world... look at how it generates memories. Awesome!

My first take was, fossil? Looks like an ancient paw frozen in the rock in mid-decay. Really neat imagery here.

Thanks, Cathleen. My subjective reaction was similar on seeing this.

Great photo!

Cool image!

Sydney?

If you get up that way, check out Boudi National Park for sandstone (near Gosford).
