I'd like to say this is probably one of my favourite portraits I've taken in awhile. A photo of the lovely Brittany Vaughan, she is a friend and a fellow photographer in my photography program here at school as well. Her little nickname here is Red, she was nice enough to come down and model for me for this quick little last minute impromptu shoot I wanted to do and I thought she would be the best person to photograph for this idea. Mainly because of her amazing red hair and because she is quite the beauty, no denying it here.
This was a simple shoot don't think we even shot for like 15min or so. Originally I had the main light set up differently but thankfully one of my teachers, Dave, was around and decided to drop in while I was shooting. He suggested I change the main light around and I did, and I think it looked a lot better. So his suggestion really helped, I think it made the photo look much better. Also got to thank one of my other teachers Jim who let me borrow his red fabric backdrop for this photo. Which is what I really needed for this photo just cause it needed more red! Also thankfully Brittany was wearing a shirt that she was able to pull down past her shoulders because what she was wearing didn't go with this photo. She was wearing a bright blue and white stripped shirt and it clashed with the photo. I also got her to ruffle up her hair as much as she could because I wanted a lot of fly aways for this shot so I could get a massive rim/hair light for her. Also she has a lot of hair so the bun at the back of her hair is quite big. So thankfully everything went as planned.
