Here’s another that I think would look good on a wall. I think in a darkened room with a soft light source near the top of the frame, this would look three-dimensional.
Your eye intrigues me Chris. Very few people see the way that you do and it is quite refreshing to meet (virtually) someone who clearly is seeing not just looking. The weight and balance to this image are quite strong. Great work.
I have to agree with Phillip's comment below. Hung on a gallery wall this image wold be very impactive.
Thanks very much, Julian! I don't know how I've missed your very kind comment until now. It means a lot to me, especially coming from someone with a fine eye for a good image yourself. I don't see anything unusual about my "vision", in fact I think I'm a quite conventional and conservative photographer.
You're great with the people images, something that's not always easy, especially "seeing" the image, and keeping good composition when it's all changing so quickly. But you also have an eye for abstraction, perhaps something we have in common. :-)
Thank you both! Missed your comment somehow until now. Especially appreciated as your own work is very fine.

I'm sneaking in late on this conversation, but echoing timeless comments. Abstract will never be boring to me. I like the questions it generates in my mind... what's beyond? What issss that thing? The beauty of the lines, the shapes... how much it inspires me to go out and see more than the tree and the squirrels of my youth. Very nice, Chris. :)
Thanks for you kind words, Furaha. I'm sorry for not replying earlier. I'm glad you like the image.
I wonder if its abstract nature and lack of anything to give a sense of scale has left a misleading impression of the subject's size - it is a patch of seaweed 1-2 metres long on a beach.
Thanks for your very kind words, Thomas! The colour of the weed was almost fluorescent against the sand in the soft late aternoon sun, so I tried to capture the atmosphere.
I'm sorry I've missed your comment until now. Hope life in Natal is treating you well. I never went much outside of Pretoria as a kid before coming to Australia.
Chris, nice composition the algae/seaweed draped rock with the coastal sand each telling the story of the ebb tide in their own way.
Again, I’ll be back.

Yup - we need a new group just for this reason. Beautiful!
Thanks, Ruth. Here's to simplicity.

Abstract and impressive!
Thanks, Alex!
Wonderful texture! :)

Thanks for you kind words, Cathleen. The world is many things, but amongst them it is a beautiful place, which I try to convey to others.
WOWWWW! The topography of Australia is so amazingly beautiful and different from anything I've ever seen. I LOVE this shot!

In love with the textures here Chris. Looks good enough to eat, lol. Love how you've processed this; it really pops!
