Nigretta Falls detail. Life is short.

I loved the look of those golden jets of water and the energy yet simultaneous calm of the scene. The water is a little stained with tannins, but here it doesn't look muddy, as it often can. The faint sunlight and the reflection of the blue sky capped it off.

Sadly, there is a plaque a couple of yards away, commemorating a teenager who plunged to his death from this spot at the top of the falls. Nature has no mercy. I'm very careful with her. Wet rocks in fresh water are so slippery. It's all too easy to get absorbed in the viewfinder!

What a cool abstract. The textures definitely keep me searching around.

Thanks, Daniel. So you wouldn't chop off the rock? Many would.

I would not as it adds a foreground element and pops since it is wet and not underwater.

That's how I see it, but consensus was otherwise when I sought a critique.

Trust your gut and take in consideration what they say but remember sometimes people are wrong. Art is subjective.

No! Don't chop off the rock to me it adds a mysteriousness to the flow of the water, now if you were just going for the abstract look of a painting with brush strokes from the movement of the water, then maybe remove it because it really grabs my eye.

A few posters thought of that abstract look when I posted this for crit, Bobby. Radisa Zivkovic even suggested blue & yellow duotone. I like the contrast of that dark, reddish glistening rock against that smooth flow and those golden jets at top.

Life is indeed short. Love the clarity of the rock in the corner, supporting the frame. The cool blue to the warmer colours really do something for me here. Superb expressive shot.
