The falls had not long reopened after bushfires ravaged the landscape; surrounding trees burnt, and the rock face was now visible like never before. The silvery trail across the water caught my eye, adding a touch of magic to this already beautiful waterfall in Victoria's Grampians.
After making this image, I dropped a lens hood, which rolled into this rock pool; I immediately resigned myself to buying another. Some young guys from overseas were having fun there, went into the water in the depth of our winter, and laughingly retrieved it for me, although I hadn't asked anyone to.
Sadly, a man drowned here a couple of weeks ago, around Christmas time - I suspect, a young guy like one of them, just having fun. I had worried about those guys back in 2016.

The “silvery trail” you mentioned is also my favorite part of this image. It indicates some hidden rocks causing the turbulent surface.
Thanks, Phillip! Actually, that trail is just the residual bubbles from the main fall, slowly drifting away. But I wouldn't hurry in there!
The long exposure gives the picture a romantic look.
