Glen Feshie has long been considered one of the most beautiful glens in Scotland, and in my opinion looks best in August. At this time of year the Ling Heather that clads the hills comes into bloom - one of the sights for which the Highlands are most famous.
I was keen to get a shot that captured the way the colour dominates the landscape and settled on this simple composition looking toward the head of the Glen. In this context the muted light conditions were perfect for bringing out the colour without inflicting excessive contrast on the scene.
