Self Portrait.
I am greatly inspired by folklore and fairytales, one in particular that I keep returning to are the Selkies and Swan Maidens.
Woman who transform between human and creature either my moonlight or magic spell and their fate often a sad one. Sometimes their magical skins are stolen by cruel men or must be hidden so their lovers do not discover their true forms. These stories usually end with the maiden transforming back into a creature and disappearing forever into the ocean or flying away into the sky, leaving their lover forever longing for their return.
