"The Comet and the Clouds" - Comet Neowise and Noctilucent Clouds, Dunstanburgh, Northumberland, UK.
We were fortunate to be on holiday by the Northumberland coast during the passing of comet Neowise (C/2020 F3). Clear skies and early mornings provided some stunning visuals.
Here the comet can be seen over the sea partnered with a layer of shimmering Noctilucent clouds. Noctilucent clouds consist of ice crystals and are only visible during astronomical twilight. Generally visible during summer months when the Sun is below the horizon.
