Hug Point 2020 #13

Hug Point located on the northern Oregon coast is typical of that area. Gently sloping beaches interspersed by rocky headlands create vast open spaces often measured in miles. In the Pacific Northwest people go to the "coast" as opposed to So. California where people go to the "beach." The difference is that going to the coast in the winter one can expect to be dazzled watching (from indoors) incoming storms spectacularly pounding the rocks creating impressive amounts of spray. In the summer average temps stay in the upper 60's, the wind often blows out of the north at 20+ and water temps never move past the mid-50's. It's not a beach blanket Babylon but it is a place for a peaceful introspective walk with a loved one.
