Maroon Bells

On my way back from field work in 2019, I got a chance to shoot these icons. I was the first photographer on site thanks in part to me mixing up the time zones. However competing with hikers for parking space was an experience I was happy to do without. I like the subtle gradient on the peaks as sunrise draped over them. The perfect reflection would also not last, as winds later picked up but not before a beaver decided he had indulged us photographers across the lake long enough and proceeded to take his time swimming to the other side.
