The Serranía de Hornocal are a range of mountains located 25 kilometres (16 mi) from the city of Humahuaca in the Argentine province of Jujuy. I had just arrived from Bs. As. and took this excursion up over 42.00 meters in the Andes to see this Marvel of nature. I got sick. I did not realize that I was suddenly above 4200 meters. I could barely think . Could not manage my camera settings . Just moving was an effort, so I did not walk the mile trail down to the view point did my best at the scenic stop.

Exposed in the range is the limestone formation called Yacoraite that extends from Salta, Argentina, through the Argentine Quebrada de Humahuaca, and then through the Bolivian Altiplano to Peru.
