My first try using a backup flash turned to be a game changer for my Macro insect photography. I used a portable Evolve 200 pro held in my left hand above the insect. I had a collapsabler Garyfong diffuse over the flash head. Held my sony a6000 with my right hand. I like sony's focusing system using "peaking level". In order to see the subject in low light through the view finder I turned "setting effect" off. I am very please with my Venus Laowa 2:1 100mm f2.8 macro lens set at f11 ; ISO 100; 1/200.
