Common Tern (Sterna hirundo)

The photo was taken in the Farne Islands, U.K. It is a paradise for seabird lovers.
The tern is a very aggressive bird when you get close to the nest. It attacks anyone who comes near and usually attacks by giving good pecks to the head, so you have to wear a hat to protect yourself. On these dates of taking the photo they were with the hatchlings already hatched from the egg.

Mariano, One good tern deserves another … this is another.

Great image

Although someone was too happy with you, been there done that too. I would specify “Hard” to your hat suggestion.

Let’s be careful out … for your sake and the chicks too. Thanks

Dear Paul. Thanks for his comment. They are always appreciated as they help to improve. In any case, please note that both in the Farne Islands and in Bass Rock the paths for visitors are marked and you cannot leave them. The people who visit these places, with thousands of birds, are usually very respectful. They are incredible places for natural photography and at the same time respectful of natural life.
Thank you very much and receive best regards
